So does anyone own a fortress watch. I see ads everywhere for them, but have yet to see one or hear anyone talk about owning one. So i made a poll.

You forgot to include a "What the fuck is a fortress watch?" option. It sounds like something medieval soldiers had to do.

I didn't know what a fortress watch was until I just now looked it up:

http://www.fortressworldwide.com/watches.php

My cellphone displays the time, so I don't see the need to carry another doohickey around just to keep track of temporal coordinates.

I carry a cell for work, but don't really like them. I've worn a watch for ages, and it seems a lot easier than looking at my cell (which I have to dig out of a pocket). That being said, those look a bit clunky and expensive. Mountain Gear has them on sale, but I'm content with my cheap Timex. (Edited to say forget Mountain Gear and go with the other guy's find.)

Why would someone bother responding 'no comment'? Wouldn't it be easier to just not reply?

I got it because I wanted something a little beefier than what I was used to. So far so good. I saw those ones with the wide bands like the "Patrol." Didn't like the way they looked.

Biner,

Oh, don't cry, at least not in the corner.

Do you really think a watch would make you a badass? Come on you rode your bike naked, in December. You're already badass.

Figured it our yet? Good, stop crying and come out of the corner.

Liking stuff isn't cool right now. Come back in a few months and it will be all the rage.

Whipping out your cell phone to check the time is sooo 2003.

(pulls out latest gadget) "Hey everybody look at my cool cell phone. Aren't I cool? Don't you envy my personal technology-as-fashion-accessory? Don't you want to have sex with me?" (puts phone away and gets back to reading until class is over)

I like climbing and few other things. I think I should move to Cali, more climbing, less posting.

Calculator watches are the only way to go. Calculate fall factor to 2 decimal places, anchor stresses, etc. on the fly Tongue

Like K-Swiss, fortress is a 5$ watch with a hip name on it.

I picked up a 400$ Bulova off overstock.com for 100 and change a year ago, Not as nice as a Rolex, but a darn good watch that is tough as nails (sapphire crystal face), classy enough to wear anywhere, and noone will rob me for it or think it's a 10$ knockoff. Won't need another watch for 20 years.

If I don't see some naked pictures soon, I'm going to have a breakdown. And right here at the office, too.

Well, four and a half months later and I'm pretty disappointed. I got off the river one day and noticed moisture in the watch, which is still there weeks later. I'm about to notify Fortress. I'll keep this thread informed about the customer service experience.

I've got one, its pretty good. Several people on our climbing team wear them and seem to like them. Before anyone asks, I paid for it, not a freebee.
