Does anyone know what the nations first 5.10 was?? Who and where as well. There are several posts on the Robbins' 5.9 at Tahquitz, but nothing on this subject. Zak

Goodro's wall by harold goodro, 1949 in Utah. john gill is also credited with the second and third american 5.10's. (thanks to pat ament and his shiney book) Not sure about international, I know that if a boulder problem can be considered it for sure would be in fontainbleu?

http://www.supertopo.com/...html?topic_id=307840 "When many 5.9 moves were climbed in a row, the pitch appeared to be harder than what had been considered as traditional 5.9; therefore 5.10 came about. No moves of 5.10 had yet been climbed, but a pitch of considerable length and strenuosity would be rated 5.10."
