I will be travelling through Thailand solo in the end of May and would love to get a couple of days of climbing in. Space is an issue as I can't bring too much gear with me but also skills could be an issue, I mostly boulder and toprope (leading freaks me out). Would it be possible to climb at all with those issues and if so what is the best way to climb (i.e. find a partner or hire a guide). Thanks for helping me out with any info!

you're best bet is to head to railai and hire a guide. This way:
1. You don't need any equipment at all as they provide everything.
2. They will do all of the leading and you can toprope
3. You support the local economy a bit (it's really cheap to hire a guide there anyways)

If you're in the Krabi/Railey/Tonsai area in Southern Thailand there are several guide schools around and you can rent equipment from them if you need. It shouldn't be too hard to find other climbers in the Tonsai Beach portion of the Railey peninsula.

Up in the northern section (Chiang Mai) you can find information here http://www.thailandclimbing.com/

For Koh Phi Phi try here http://www.catsclimbingshop.com/
