I don't really know what types of rock I 've already climbed on, not to mention which one was the best for me. But I would like to climb those white rocks in Corse/Corsica once. (You can find a picture of them here: http://www.belclimb.net/gallery.php?cat=rock&mode=picture&picTitle=corse.jpg )

I think the rock at Joe's Valley, Utah, looks absolutely amazing. I want to climb on that.

I mostly climb on blocky Limestone and steep sandstone in the Red. I like the sandstone features and pockets but a lot of the routes are long endurance fests, where I'd rather do short, powerfull technique problems.

Mostly Limestone, Dolomite, and like Fiend Hard Sandstone in the Red.

I'm up for trying some granite, but most people who I've talked to say I'll change my attitude after taking a slab fall on it.

I'm a granite guy to the end!! I also like the extra excitement that sandstone often provides (what with holds breaking off and all ). Not a big limestone fan, has torn my hands to pieces and teaked a tendon or two on it's sharp pockets.

I love sandstone the most, Wingate in particular (Indian Creek, Capitol Reef). call me crazy, but I feel like I can jam a sandstone crack much more effectively than one of the same width that is in granite. I Just got back from my first climing on granite in the City, however, and it inspires confidence as no sandstone ever could! I still prefer sandstone though. Part of the whole mystique of the desert and all...

All around the area I live, it's just mostly lime stone, but I would LOVE to do some gritstone someday!! That is one of my climbing dreams. *sigh*

volcanic is always nice as long as it's not wet or sharp, conglom has to be the most fun to climb on though, unfortunate it's so rare.

granite comes in a great many varienties and shapes, but one thing is common to it, damn sharp stuff! it does make for great bouldering in my experience though

I climb mostly on granite so I think i like it the best just because im used to it, the only negative that i find is that the backs of my hands get all cut up on the sharp crystals from jams if they arent taped up. And for a girl it looks bad to have all kinds off scabs all over your hands.

i like climbing on tuf as long as its bone dry. i also love bouldering on smooth riverside basalt, those things are almost impossible to climb like theres this one 9-foot boulder problem with only 4 or 5 shallow pockets and the largest is just enough for a 3-finger stack, i love that problem haven't solved it though, but still i love it

I think my first love will always be limestone -- pockets, rails, edges -- great features! Trenchtown and Waterworld in Vegas are amazing.

I've been doing a lot of granite bouldering lately in Little Cottonwood Canyon and it does wonders for open hand strength. Bouldering on granite also lets you avoid slab falls.

I think Quartzite is an all around good rock type with lots of features as well. As far as pure asthetics Joe's Valley boulders are beautiful.
