This was a reply to a deal on a Beal rope in the "Hot Deals" thread. "Not to be a d-ck but why would you want a beal rope, they are great for the first week, but turn to ovalled out musshy crap after that, they also don't stand up long. I suggest either mammut or sterling (just bought a sterling velocity 9.8, it is AWESOME)." I'm addressing this hear so maybe everyone will get the hint. The hot deals thread is not the place for comments and opinions of specific gear. Please go to the appropriate forum and post your heart out. I'm getting a little frustrated at checking out a hot deal that pops up on the front page only to wade through a list of comments that are not hot deals. To the poster of that reply, yes, you were being a "d-ck" to assume that your one man opnion is enough to call all Beal ropes crap. Perhaps with a little more maturity you'll learn to not form an blanket opinion of a line of ropes from a singular lack of dissatisfaction. And, if you do, post it in the appropriate place please. I now turn the pulpit over to the forum;
edited to add I see over there now thats its turned into a debate about the quality of brand ropes (great place for that debate). In that you state that Sterling's aren't any good and that you've never climbed on them. Oh well, as long as you've validated your opinion.

Well I can tell you I am very worked up about it. what kind of a-hole would discuss the merits or lack thereof of certain brands of gear in a thread devoted to Hot Deals?

Caught, I would think that would be discussed in a forum about, oh, lets see, maybe gear. Not a forum on "Hot Deals". But I'm open for opinions on that, thus I brought the discussion here.

Sorry, I missed the sarcasm. Pretty lame of me since I'm usually the one doing it.
