Some resort in Tucson has been doing this for a while now as well. I am sure there are others. In fact alpinism has a pretty longstanding tradition of rich people paying a guide to lead them up what most climbers nowadays would consider a hike.

On July 1st 2009 (my 33rd b-day), I had the privilege to climb on 2 classic routes at Skytop. We were staying at the Mohonk Mountain House, which in and of itself is amazing. The Mountain House is celebrating its 140th anniversary and had a special promotional rate so the entire vacation including an afternoon of climbing was reasonable. This was only the second time my girlfriend, Ashley, had been climbing so this was quite an experience for her. Our guide, Mark, from Alpine Endeavors did an outstanding job and we all had a great time. Later that day Ashley and I hiked to the tower on Skytop and got engaged. So now she is my fiancé. All in all this was an incredible outing! Some pics will be up soon.
