Anyone doubt for a minute who the real Wizard of Oz on this one was?

Wow where's patron Cheney when Scooter needs him?

AWOL same as always. A rat is a rat, once and forever. Cheney is not a stand up guy and never was. Shot his friend in the face and set up his trusted advisor to take the fall for his faults.

What a sonofabitch.

Libby lied, got a trial and was found guilty

He will, of course, appeal and I think he will be unsuccessful with these appeals and maybe do a few months in jail...will the decider pardon?

He should roll over on the rest of the administration (Cheney) and, I wonder what Judith Miller thinks of this in light of her time in jail protecting a source

The new power of the Congress to issue subpoenas is the best thing going right now

I don't think it's a secret to anyone that Libby was merely a loyal functionary for Cheney and that Libby would never act without the full blessing (if not direct orders) of his boss. I almost feel bad for Libby......almost.

This news is really nothing, however, compared to the breaking story about 8 US Attorneys recently being fired by the Bush Justice Department for not filing charges against various Democrats and not dropping investigations against various Republicans before last November's elections. That's truly amazing.

I suspect history will simply regard GWB's terms in office as America's Dark Ages.

For all of the "outrage" over the disclosure of Plame's identity, there seems to a genuine lack of interest in the admitted leaker, Richard Armitage.

Or at least 4 of the 8.

From what I've read, the others were fired for clashing with Justice on key issues, like immigration and the death penalty. And then there's rumor that several of the positions were vacated to allow the replacements (political up and comers) to pad their resumes.

It's all pretty sleazy, IMO.

Wondered when someone was going to mention this.

Where's the Special Investigator now that we found the "source" of the "illegal" leak?

Apparently not so much a crime anymore.

I think his involvement ( Armitage) didn't meet the standard that was applied to Libby.

He told Bob Woodward and Woodward sat on the info while others were in deep shit with the DOJ, but he wanted to wait until his latest book was completed. No big deal to him that Miller spent 87 days in jail when he knew one of the leakers was walking free. I don't beleive the spin that Armitage was the only one doing the leaking, Cheney's own hand written notes implicate him in this.

Look, this deal was run from the top down and several journalists were in on it the whole time, including Miller, Cooper and Novak and I don't thing the fall-out from this trial is over, especially if the decider doesn't offer up a pardon.

Here's the Washington Post editorial. They are hard on everybody from Libby to Wilson to Fitgerald.
