Gingrich Admits to Affair While Pursuing Clinton Over Lewinsky

http://www.abcnews.go.com/...d=2937633&page=1

Guess its best to APPEAR holier than thou...so the sheep will just lap it up.

March 9, 2007 Setting the stage for his entry into the presidential race, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, R-Ga., gave a radio interview to be broadcast today with Focus on the Family's James Dobson, in which Gingrich for the first time publicly acknowledged cheating on his first and second wives.

"There were times when I was praying and when I felt I was doing things that were wrong. But I was still doing them," Gingrich said during the interview. "I look back on those as periods of weakness and periods that I'm not only not proud of, but I would deeply urge my children and grandchildren not to follow in my footsteps."

This asshole went out of his way to pursue Clinton for FAR less that what he himself was doing... but I guess all you right wingers will justify this one off in some way or another like the Focus on the Family seems to be doing..CrazyCrazyCrazy

Disgusting

I seem to recall that he excused himself from his position as Speaker because of some "conflict of interest" during the whole impeachment affair. But on further review, I recalled incorrectly.

Hypocrisy I can deal with. Its one hypocrisy committed while trying to avoid another that bugs me. If you let going back on your word get to you that much, why are you still doing it?

Does anyone wonder why there wasn't a push during the impeachment hearings to excuse every single congress person involved in an affair at the time? Because there wouldn't be enough people to form a quorum, that's why. As they say, power corrupts. And if you're underhanded enough to get elected, I'd wager you're underhanded enough to have an affair.

It doesn't surprise me in the slightest that Newt had an affair. It doesn't surprise me that Bill Clinton had an affair. Hell, the only person I think is clean that way is Bush, but that just goes to show that a person's sex life doesn't necessarily reflect on their character.

Yeah, Clinton still should have been impeached though. Perjury is PErjury. Newt shouldn't have taken such an active role, however.

Eh we're going to hell in a handbasket, what else is new?Unimpressed

He was impeached on December 19, 1998 by the House of Representatives on charges of perjury and obstruction of justice.

He was acquitted by the Senate on February 12, 1999. (55/45 perjury and 50/50 obstruction of justice.)

In April 1999, he was cited by Federal District Judge Susan Webber Wright for civil contempt of court for his "willful failure" to obey her repeated orders to testify truthfully in the Paula Jones sexual harassment lawsuit.

Neocon???? Duh! He took the sordid highway down dark back roads and he squealed like a pig the entire time.

Then he gave a sermon.

A sermon from the mount.

Why you impeached Clinton for lying to the people and not Bush for lying to the people, the congress AND the world?

...just curious.
