From your profile:
KKHall89 wrote: ...there is always the occasional crazy person who ruins everything, heh. I like to have fun and that is what it is all about. :) Life threatening events do not stop me and I have been in more than one death situation. I love climbing cliffs with loose sand that always falls from under your feet. I haven't broken anything, but that might change soon enough, although I hope not. Jackass.

You obviously have no idea what rock climbing is. And you are not "free climbing" like your profile says. What you describe is called hiking. Stupid hiking that endangered your friend. Go drink a Mountain Dew and ride a bike or something. Just stop giving climbing a bad name.

Great trip report! And very representative (in its way) as to the general bumbling ways of climbers. Thanks. DMT

Combined with this other post, it becomes even funnier. Or even "trollier".
In reply to: Today I went near the Virginia Highlands in Nevada and climbed some rocks, but those were really slick and not that great. I was four wheeling back down and saw this huge rock face that needed to be climbed. I was about to drive over there and climb it until my heart was content, but my mom stopped me. She said that she will not sit back and watch me climb this cliff without a partner. So I have been looking for someone who is good at climbing sharp high rocks. I was going to go there tomorrow, but was stopped yet again by my mother. I would like to find someone to climb with before the end of next weekend. If any of you are interested, that would be awesome.

Dangit, I wish the original post was up there. C'mon people, you know if it's gold, you should quote it immediately, for posterity! Looks like he did change his profile in response to this thread though. My favorite part: "She put me in some dangerous situations and we both would sick together for anything." Sick together? VD?

In reply to: My first near death experience was the greatest adrenaline rush I have had in a long time. It was on a cliff side with loose rocks covered in loose sand. It was higher than 50 feet up. It looked simple and I was so excited. My best friend, Kalie, wasn't that happy with my choice, but it seemed like so much fun. The first of the climb was simple, but when we finally reached the middle everything fell apart, literally. It was so hot and we were so tired. The sand kept giving way under us and we were stuck on a rock about to give way. We were still pretty far from the top and the bottom was surrounded by a river and sharp boulders. We sat there for what seemed like hours until I finally gave up and decided to do something. Kalie was crying and I was laughing hysterically because of what I was thinking about doing. Without telling her, I jumped off the rock I was on and just let go of everything. I didn't have time to think of what I was doing or that I could fall down to my death. I just wanted to get up this cliff. Before I started to hit rocks with my body, I grabbed onto a rock that was half in the sand and half sticking out. I hung there for a while and listened to Kalie scream at me. The rock that she was on was beginning to fall. I was right underneath her and all I see is this huge rock coming toward me. Kalie was trying to grab on to the closest thing to her. I tried to move out of the way before it came loose. I saw some brush off to the side so I swung myself over to it. Kalie jumped off the rock she was on and grabbed onto my legs. The rock that she was on fell right where I was and crashed all the way down. We watched it crack into pieces then cracked up laughing. By that time my arms were killing me. Her weight was making it harder for me to hold on, but I didn't care about the pain. We were able to swing across to get to another rock. Then we saw the top of the cliff. I was so happy and Kalie was smiling as if she was home. We both climbed up with problems, but we made it. Once we were done with it, we looked down and back to what we had just climbed. It was the greatest feeling ever. We both were covered in sand and I was bleeding so we decided to walk back. What sucked about walking back is that we were about 5 hours from our jeeps. We were so tired by the time we got home that we both just fell asleep without eating anything. We had our limit for the week. If I could go back and do it again, I would.

At least this kid or troll or whatever posted some original material. I liked it personally. Not linked, not quoted, not the product of someone else's work. DMT

Thanks for reposting the deleted thread. I was annoyed that it was deleted at first but now having read it, I wish it would have stayed deleted. I see that it's been exaggerated emencely but even if just a part of it is true........ Darwinism is fine it's the collateral damage that pisses me of.

Is it collateral damage if another is foolish enough to follow suit? Growing up, I remember there being the kids that always had the stupid ideas, those fools that bought into the madness, and those wise enough to slowly back away.

Ahh, thanks for posting that Reno. Now I see why he deleted it.... he didn't want anyone stealing his pulitzer prize winning work. Seriously though, I'm thinking rough draft of an assignment for a creative writing class. Looking for a peer review?

Seems as though he was leading her and in that case he's more responsible. True she didn't have to follow but maybe she trusted him.
