I recently relocated to Central NY, Norwich, from Colorado. I was bummed a bit about not having as much to climb. However, Ive recently discovered this: (Let me know your thoughts) - shoot I guess they are too big, all like 200k -anyhow, its about 50-60' wall of awesomeness. If anyone wants pics, let me know Ill email them, or eventually get around to resizing them!

Anyone have any other reccomendations?

I grew up in Utica and started learning to climb in a local rock gym and eventually stockpiling gear with whatever allowance or cash I could muster. When I was 16 or so I finally got to borrow my mom's car and drive out to Little Falls where there was some decent established stuff to top rope on Moss Island. I had always wanted to make my way up and do some of Poke-o-moonshine because it's just freaking amazing. There is a guide called Climbing in the Adirondacks or something to that effect. Great book, but I moved to San Diego after college and never really got to use it. CNY does have some gems but they take a little more effort to get to than some are used to. Where are you talking about anyway??? My parents still live there and it'd be nice to hook up with my old partner when I'm back in town for holidays..

That looks like it could be a fun TR, albeit much of it looks like shale/slate and probably pretty wet in the spring/summer. I would be leery of anythign "overhanging" if it is. Where were those taken BTW?

There are a bunch of old shale quarries in the area, but they're really wet and chossy in the springtime. Little Falls is fun for a day trip or three. And the 'Dacks and Gunks are right in your backyard, fer cryin' out loud. My wife is from Utica; we get up there every summer. You can also turn up some pretty cool fossils in that Hamilton shale, if you're into that.
