Looking for fellow climbers to come with a group of 3-4 of us (24 to 34 yrs old). We're planning on going to ainsworth climbing/hot springs http://www.hotnaturally.com/ to sit and soak at night and we're looking to climb during the day. We're a little stumped on where to go (we only have gear for sport climbing) and any help anyone could give us would be greatly appreciated. Here are the tentative dates May 17, Thursday - leave Calgary after work and drive 7 hours to Ainsworth May 18, Friday - climb -> hotsprings May 19, Saturday - ditto May 20, Sunday - ditto May 21, Monday - ditto, and then leave ainsworth in the late afternoon for the 7 hour drive back to Calgary. Tentative accomodation prices Ainsworth Hot Springs Resort (with view) - $28 per person http://www.hotnaturally.com/spring_rates.php Kaslo Hostel (dorm style) - $20 per person http://www.kaslohostel.com/ Camping - if I remember correctly it's $20 per site ...... gotta check up on this though, will do later

Howdy, contact slavetogravity as he has a wealth of knowledge on the area. Slocan City offers some good sport climbing, but is a bit of a distance from Ainsworth. Additionally, the Waterline Wall (castlegar) is seeing explosive route development. Cheers, Neil

Check the route database. There will be many more sport routes by the May long weekend. http://www.rockclimbing.com/...The_Water_Line_Wall/

Howdy, i don't think the drive to Castlegar from Ainsworth is further than Slocan, the KM's are similar but the road to C-gar is much quicker. (if I recall correctly). Check it out!!!! cheers, Neil
