so ive never been to south carolina and ill be down there next weekend visiting a friend. i was wondering if the saluda river area even worth trying to find?

The bouldering on the Saluda River is located at Riverbanks Zoo near downtown Columbia...pretty easy to find. However, the water level may be above the boulders this weekend. We've had a lot of rain so they have been releasing water from the dam several miles up river.

also, to be completely honest, no the bouldering area is not worth finding. it's small and there's nothing really exciting about it. you'd have a much better time finding good rock if you stopped by north carolina on the way. however, if you really want to climb, you can pull down on some plastic at Stronghold Athletic Club on Huger Street, just south of the intersection with Gervais. It's a good gym.

thanks, thats pretty good info for the next time i get down to columbia... haha. i posted this last year before a trip down there but i have yet to return.
