Photography has turned into a good thing to do when I'm injured. Granted a point-and-shoot with a crappy lens does'nt help much but the lack of hours of painstaking preparation seem to be what really holds back my random forays into the woods. Luckily my memory of these days is still sharp and fresh.

Love those eyes! Lens blur filter, zone prefocus or servo focus? I like the real limited DOF!

thanks. It is servo focus, but I wish I had zone focus thingy.... That little guy is really fast and sometimes hard to track... Nope, not a filter, it is shot using one of the earliest canon EF lenses, EF 135/2.8, not the fastest af but being a f2.8 lens, 20D can use high precision tracking. Also designed as a portrait lens, it has beautiful bokeh...

A few recent shots from a global climate change rally in Albany, NY organized by Step It Up 2007 http://www.stepitup2007.org. The Albany rally was part of 1300+ rallies held April 14th all across the US to foster awareness various ways to reduce individual footprints of CO2 emissions, as well as enact national policy change aimed at reducing carbon emissions 80% by 2050.

More Action Pistol. I'm working on refining my technique for this kind of photography. The camera was fired remotely. This shooter has an "open" gun. He has a red dot sight (not a laser) and a magazine which usually holds anywhere from 27 to 29 rounds. On the front of the gun, either the barrel or slide has slots or holes bored into it which lets the escaping gas be directed upwards to help control recoil.
Scoring is based on speed and accuracy. The little blue box being helf over this shooters head is a timer that counts the shots being fired and assigns a time to each shot. This competitor is moving from one shooting location to another and reloading during the transition to save time. Notice his trigger finger is not inside the trigger guard. This prevents accidental discharges while reloading.
This competor's gun is a "limited" category gun. It is more like a "traditional" gun having fewer modifications than the "Open" category gun.
Let me tell you, Camera gear freaks have nothing over these guys when it comes to equipment knowlege!

Two shot pano Empire State Plaza that I forgot I stitched till looking for some brackets to mess with HDR. Shot same day as the B&W skating one on Pg 1 of this thread.

All shots were with a point and shoot Kodak Easy Share Z730. The flower was shot with a macro and wide angle lens. The iguanas shot with the same. The rest just standard internal lens.

Some beautiful photos appearing here - a few are simply awe-inspiring.
I'm visiting Sydney for a few weeks, for work - knocked off early and wandered down to Coogee beach, then did the post-processing in a burst of insomnia - it's 1:55am here now. Hope you enjoy! One caveat - these were all processed on a crappy laptop screen, so colour may be a bit out. First three are stitched panoramas.
A line of dinghies along the beach:
Flowers on the cliff edge.
The Coogee Bay Sea Baths
An imposing face in the rock, staring out to sea
A funky sculpture in the park above the sea cliffs
I got lucky with this one. The almost-full moon was rising in exactly the right place to beautifully back-light the sculpture. The streaks in the sky are from planes, but come out looking like meteors, giving a distinctly "other-worldly" appearance to the scene. My favourite, I think.

A few from this weekend:
A note on the photos, some have said they seem overly saturated. However, I DID NOT UP THE SATURATION. The colors in all but one photo are accurate (or as accurate as my sensor portrayed them in RAW). The only photo with distinctly boosted saturation is the HDR shot of the D&H building and it mostly affected the blues and greens. If you view enough of these tulip photos you'll notice they all seem to glow with strong backlighting. And while I was going for that effect I did not realize how pronounced it would be till i was viewing them at home.
A lot were taken with a 35mm shift lens which is quickly becoming a favorite lens. I was hoping it wouldn't be a novelty lens when I got it and thus far the more i use it, the more I want to use it.
The HDR Image...I'm not really a fan of HDR because it looks so fake but it can make a higher contrast scene look decent. This was taken around 4pm. I went back the next morning at 5:30am to retake the shot but I haven't looked at those images yet.
