Hello everyone. I am thinking of climbing Sisyphus Summits on Ha Ling Peak near Canmore in late May. I am from BC and am unfamiliar with the area, so I have a few questions (I have not consulted a guide book yet): 1) Is it warm enough in late May to do this climb? 2) Will the descent route have snow on it? 3) What kind of sun exposure does the climb get? Thanks for the help, Nick

Hey, Its a really fun route, not sure if May is the best time to do it.... 1) the weather at that time will be pretty up in the air 2) the descent is a walk-off so even with a little snow not a big deal, the descent gets a decent amount of sun so it should be alright 3)The climb itself is in the shade most of the day(in fact if I remember correctly we were in the shade the whole route), so in sum:Who knows? If the weather isn't cooperating there's tons of stuff that will be nice on Yamnuska!

Pick your day right and you should be fine. Remember it's entirely north facing so you'll be in the shade except early/late. Drove by yesterday, it's still winter up there.

Based on my two decades of experience living in the bow valley, one can expect the temps to be between 0 and 35 degrees Celsius. (no joke!!!) More than likely the median temp will be about 17 degrees. Pick your day right and you'll get much better.
