Hi there,
I'll be visiting e Big Apple in late June and was wondering which climbing areas are worth a visit?

I can do Sport Climbs but dun have gear to do Trad. Don't mind bouldering either. If anyone is free to pair up be great too! PM me. Thanks!

Appreciate any info on this. Thanks! Smile

You'll be only a few hours from Rumney, New Hampshire. Some of the best sport climbing in the Eastern US. Even though you don't trad, you might wanna check out the gunks. There's some decent bouldering there (like masturbating in a whorehouse), and there's a lot of stuff you can set up on toprope, especially at peterskill.

Are you people nuts! His post was from May talking about climbing in June.

He's GONE!!!!!!!!!

(brought to you by the time police. Enforcers of all Thread Revivals).

Actually, you should reply to his post and ask him if he went anywhere when he was here...

Yeah Wink Your advice is good though. If anyone is in the situation where they fly into NYC and are looking for climbing; if they can only climb sport, they should just hire a guide at the Gunks and go out and pull down on some awesome stuff. And a guide can get you through a pretty large volume of climbs in a day.

Heck, it's probably cheaper to hire a guide and stay in New Paltz for the night, than to just stay in NYC for that night!

It's a bit over 80 miles from NYC to New Paltz. You must drive pretty fast...
