Going to be in Sheridan, WY this wkend (Thu-Sat). Wondering if there's any good climbing nearby and anyone willing to climb. Days will be occupied, so I'm hoping there's someplace nearby to get a few quick pitches in in the evenings--even if it's only a climbing gym.
Thanks,
Dave Wise

dwise, Two friends and I went there over Mem Day weekend to go to the Tongue river Cave (outside Dayton). There is lots of climbing to be had, but we got lucky and got a rough draft of the new guide for that area that is coming out from JoJo--it helped a bunch. There is some granite bouldering around, and mucho dolomite sport routes around. Good luck.

Check out little piney canyon (routes are online), near Story, WY. It was my favorite place to go when I lived in Sheridan. There are some great dolomite routes there. As far as partners go, you will have a difficult time finding one. There are a couple of guys around, but I have not stayed in contact with them. Go down to the bike shop next to bighorn mountain sports, the may have a topo of the area and may be able to refer you to a partner. Good luck.
