Just started putting my climbing wall today and realized that I should have used two by fours. The two by sixes are just the boards that go horizantal and not vertical. Will it still work? Thanks John

2X6's will work fine as the horizontal boards. You will want to use 2X4's for the vertical boards though so that they don't get in the way of t-nuts as much. This can lead to the plywood getting pushed away from the frame.

Don't cut them into 2X4's. If you do the wood will lose much of its strength. You may make some large nicks or cuts in the wood where it will break more easily. Plus you will lose the waterproofing on the side that you cut it on.

It is not wrong to use 2x6's. I have used them on a free standing wall. I also used them on one of the other walls that i have helped build.
