I travel past Quartz Mtn on business, but have never climbed there. I've been climbing for 6 yrs and lead sport at 5.11 and trad at 5.9, maybe 5.10. Any potential partners with local knowledge?

wHAT kind of info you looking for. Its hot this time of year unless you get up at first light. 80 degrees in the parking lot is about the hottest Ill climb there. On the wall it can get like 10-15 degrees hotter. Mostly a winter climbing destination, that being said, its the best crag in oklahoma. Lots of ground up slab routes up to 200+ ft on high quality granite. There is a gathering the first weekend in April and October every year, which somewhat informally signifies the start and end of the season

How's the tent camping at the state park - restroom facilities, etc.? I have the Oklahoma Select Book by Tony Mayse, but finding the right rap anchors for some climbs aren't evident. I've got a California trip planned in a couple of weeks (Lover's Leap, Tuolumne, Mt. Whitney), but would like to visit here in August (even if it's hot).

I'll be going to Elk City for 1/2 day of business but will be travelling from Austin.

decent camping at the park, buggy next to the river, decent facilities, nothing really special.

Which rap anchors are you talking about? SOme climbs require you to build a gear belay and scramble to a central rap station, or you could always walk off the backside.
