what do you guys think? it's really contrasty, but the conditions were horrible to shoot in so it's the best I could get away with. Also the scanner here at work, rivals the ford pinto in reliability and quality of use. I had to blow out his hands to get some other details to come out in other areas.....I probably should go back and re PS the scan. The print is a lot better than this...

I like how dynamic it feels; the climber being mid-move and I love that you can see the climber's face and the focus he expresses. I can't pin down why, but I like how the guy spotter's right arm is dropped down instead of it being up like his other arm. The spotters drive my attention to the climber who, in turn, drives my attention to his right hand. There are lots of diagonal lines leading to the subject from the frame edges created by the arete, the shadows in the background and the boulder behind the spotter. All roads lead to home. The DoF nicely separates the subject from the background. Great job! -mike

Is this closer or farther from what you wanted (aside from the weirdness around Kyzad's [sp?] head where I was lazy/ sloppy with the history brush, and the poor sharpening)? My monitor's fukt, so it's hard to know what I'm looking at sometimes.

That's great Kris. Pretty much what I was thinking. The light was very direct and harsh, but the opportunity was there so I did the best I could. What do you gusy think of the composition now that Kris has prettied it up?
