I was wondering about those myself. I saw one on the cover of a climbing book of a guy i mid-fall with a priceless expression and grabing for the rope once, and wondered if there were any like that on this site. Anyone know of any?

There are some on this site. Look through the Gallery. I have a burry sequence of before and during a fall. 'spike' has a great one. 'meadors' has a partial. There are a few more, but they are hard to time as they are usually unplanned.

How about a live video of two climbers falling? This is the most shocking video I have ever seen! It was actually broadcast live on a French TV station. Two climbers were being lowered (presumably during a rescue) when the rope broke and they fell to their deaths. (I think it was French...maybe if someone can understand the announcer, they can translate it). If you have a weak stomach, don't watch this. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the climbers! Here is the link.

They didn't die. I didnt pay close enough attention to calculate the whole thing but: Multiple fractures after a 300 foot fall. They both survived!.

Good! I am glad to hear they survived. The e-mail I rec'd this on said something about climbers falling to their deaths and the video quality was so poor on my 'puter I couldn't understand which language it was. Thanks for the corrections. Pretty awesome to consider that they survived this fall.

Phil, much love. Those pics are beautiful. Thanks for the tip on that site. Wow. And Scooby, what are you talking about? Whippers make the world go round! You can't be afraid of them! You must embrace! And have y'all checked out the forum on things you never want to hear coming from your belayer? That's one of the funniest things I've ever read! Peace
