OK, why are routes listed for an indoor climbing facility and a portable rock wall in the routes database for New Orleans? I see no real purpose for posting these on here because indoor routes (in theory) should change all the time correct?

Well, I guess when you live in a Shithole you deal with what you have. You should know, you're from Louisiana. Edited to state; That was a bit harsh. I'm sure Louisiana is nice.......somewhere.

That's a good question and I don't see any good reasons but maybe the fact that the user who did that might have wanted to record some of his/her ascents and so had to list the routes first... Just a thought, though.

Yea I guess, but still it's a gym route Even if whoever posted the routes did want to record their ascent that route will probably not be there in a few months. Also, I'm fairly sure that some of the routes posted were posted in the New Orleans area were posted by the owner or workers of the gyms where the routes are located at, so could that be seen as spam*? And yes salamanizer, Lousyana sucks big time for outdoor activities, especially if you don't own a boat. Yea, New Orleans is alright, but it also sucks balls because it's economy is based almost solely on Tourism, as such there's not a whole lot to do down there other than touristy stuff and Mardi Gras... but that's why I take lots of road trips to other areas, and will be out of this mud pit as soon as I graduate college. *Note* I know that these places are climbing related businesses (one is a gym, the other a portable wall) but there are better places and ways to advertise for a business than on the routes database.

I have been climbing for over 20 years and have lived most of my life in places like the Eastern Sierra, Yosemite, Boulder, etc., but now I am happy to live in New Orleans. Climbing is a big part of my life and I continue to visit my former climbing haunts, but I cannot disagree more with the comment that Louisiana is a "shithole." It has, among other things, culture, wilderness, great spirit, and you can easily find good climbing if you are creative (on buildings) or by driving 5-6 hours.

And a nice commentary on available rock in Louisiana.

I definitely agree with you that LA isn't a shithole there are quite a few nice things here, and some really nice people, but you know what? I've been living here for just about 21 years now, and I'm tired of it . I've been stuck in this mudflat for too long, I've stretched my legs and seen the Mountains, seen how cities should be run, and done quite a few things that LA could never hope to offer; so guess what? I'm gone soon as my diploma is in hand. /end rant //I'll probably visit every so often though, I'll miss boudin and jambalaya
