Any real climbing? Or only bouldering? Either way, later in the winter, when it's bouldering time, I could be down.

mr8615 wrote: Any real climbing? Or only bouldering? There is a giant rock face that I have not hiked to yet. I am mainly interested in the bouldering first. It's on public access land whereas I think the face may belong to Greenville Water Shed or something like that. They're touchy with any kind of access on their land. However, the rock face is giant, at least 2-300 feet tall and over 1000 feet wide. Everything is gneiss, similar to that of Rumbling Bald- quality stone, no flaking. Come on people, this could be the next big thing in the area, especially for SC! I'm going up there everyday, but I could use some help and even some advice from some of the seasoned locals. When we get thru the initial stage, it will be good to include the Access Fund and SECC. joshua

If you could get access to some of the rock faces around Raven Cliff Falls that would be great. They are in Ceasars Head. There is some decent single pitch trad potential as well as bolted routes. Id be down but im in IL these days. Talk to the guys at Fike at Clemson and Rock's and Ropes in Greenville Cheers T

You should pm cccman. He's always game for checking out a new area and is down near Greenville somewhere. I'll be interested as soon as it cools off. When it gets under 80 send me a pm and I'll join you out there.

Yes PM cccman. If this area is as you describe it, I find it hard to believe that it hasn't popped up on anyone else's radar.
