First off I have little or ZERO knowledge about slacklining in general. I just got into it this past weekend. I am using the primitive setup on a 40ft line in my yard. I just found out about the line lock in place of the munter- half hitch combo and am going to try it tomorrow. My question is on the tightening side..

What are the advantages or disadvantages to using this setup (line lock) on the clove hitch side? right now i'm using a clove hitch with 2 biners and 2 biners on the anchor. I create a Z pattern 4:1 tighten it up by my self and lock it off with 3 half hitches around the group of webbing.

Can I take out the clove hitch, add another line locker and still keep it tight?

Will the line locker work with 2 biners or will I have to make it a 3:1 system? Thanks in advance.

The line lock will work with two biner's just fine. The advantage is not weakining the webbing while using a knot, and a really easy flat line.

What line lock are you using, a chain link? If so, make sure the burs and sharp point were it was pressure joined is grinded down so it doesn't cut your line.

Aren't we all. I love the looks I get when I tell the hardware guy at Home Deposit that I want 1 foot of 1inch chain in seperate links.

to all of you, try a garda knot, needs two biners, is auto-locking and can be untied easily, even under tension ! Wink works for me every time, a better way to tension ( without ratchets ofcourse..) is still to come...

A Line lock basically a chain link wrapped with webbing. You take a loop of webbing wrap it around one of the links and back through the link. then clip a biner through both loops.

The one in place of the clove hitch works like a charm. this is on a 40ft line.
