What happened to the Melbourne / Victorian climbers getting together? There was a post up about a month ago.... a few people seemed keen to go on a day trip or meet up in a gym? No skin off my nose really, There's plenty of folks I climb with... but what about those that want to get out there and meet a few people? Just wondering... I haven't had any info since I said I was interested. Melbournites still interested? Cheers, Elk

Depends when and where. I mean, most of us train indoors somewhere, so did you want to have a day where everyone gets into a gym, or a full day outside somewhere on a weekend? It also depends on peoples scheduals, but we could probably work something out.

I was thinking of sorting out a day trip on either a Saturday or Sunday at somewhere like Werribee Gorge. Sure it's not the most amazing crag on the planet, but it's easy enough to set up a couple of top-ropes and caters for a few different styles and capabilities. And there's a few sport routes there, as well as trad if people wanna lead. There's a few there I'd like to tick on lead. What about some time in early to mid December? PM me if interested and I'll sort out some type of list and dates and contact some folks. Cheers, Elk [ This Message was edited by: the_elk on 2002-10-07 19:57 ]

Em, hope you realise what you just volunteered for. Sounds like a tough job rounding up climbers. Anyway, count me (and a few of us central vic folk) in. Name the date and I'll round up a few too. Avoid 2nd to 5th Nov. VCC is having their Araps thing then. Dec is out for me, but others up here might still go. [ This Message was edited by: michaelb on 2002-10-07 21:01 ]

Em you can count me in, but i dont think you could organise a church raffle let alone a heap of vic climbers for a day drip.... Besides, with the way you climb, u will scare them all away! Scradjie, if you still want someone to show you the ropes gime a buzz. Phil

Joe, when you talk of 'those without transport', you basically mean me don't you. I was hoping to head up to Arapiles over the hols, so if you were all thinking of a day trip to werribee, then maybe no. What about a trip to araps?

em, december 8 sounds pretty good. i've got exams in november, so that's a total no-go. werribee gorge seems to be the best spot. someone else suggested an araps meet... no doubt we'll see closer to the time. good luck. -ben

Okay, So it seems that Dec. 8 is going to be the most likely date. It'll be a trip out to Werribee Gorge. Those that can help with car pooling let me know. No doubt over Summer a lot of us will be out at Araps anyway, so we'll probably all end up bumping into each other. More details will appear closer to the date. Cheers, for the responses. Have a great weekend all! Em.
