Depends how slow kevin is. He is supposed to be at my place around 8:30 so he can learn how to look after my cats. I imagine we should be at the bar by about 8:50 - 9:00.

I had a good time at Nicks, and if I'm ever looking to actually get full on chicken, I know where to go now for ridiculously HUGE wings. (which I think Brenden is had for breakfast this morning) I think Brenden's suggestion for Father Murphy's Irish Pub next week is a good one, it looks like a great place! How about making it official right now, and not change it 3x between now and next Wed? Just a thought. Anyone who has a piece of obscure-weird-defunct, gear bring it along! Maybe Brian and I should bring our Raichle Super Sherpa full shank, leather boots. and have parking lot races! (just picture running in ski-boots with 10 lb ankles weights) Oh..BTW, HAPPY SPUTNIK DAY!!

JR and I will carpool down there. It may be a couple of drivers changes. I will drive for the first tank. My raichle boots are long gone ... I may have a coathanger ice screw though. That would freak Grant out just a little bit ... B

So, Brian will drive to Squishy or Red Rocks on a whim, but some how thinks the south end of town is a couple tanks away... Guess memory fades with age, eh? Good times had by all at the weekly meeting. Father Murphy's it is then. No Changing! And Brian, I'm quite certain the waitress will know what a "Dark" beer is at an Irish Pub. (Where's that rolling eyes emoticon when you need it?) Oh, here it is:

Fired? Laid-off? Or did I completely miss something in the conversation last night? Or are you just done for the day?

I gave my two weeks last Friday and they told me to take a vacation for the rest of the week and next week. Good deal by my estimation. Just debating going to work earlier or lounging for a week. :-)

Sounds like a good deal if you're getting Vac. Pay during the time you're lounging around. You couple hike into all the early season ice locations and tell me what it's looking like if you need something to do.

We still have some (cold) rock to deal with first The wings at Nick's.. really wondering if those were in fact *chicken* wings, they looked more like pterodactyl limbs or something. Regardless, they far exceeded the quality of our waitress (again)
rockguide wrote: So you also found it odd that when I asked what was her recommended dark beer, she said a pale ale. B Yes.. she sure was up to speed on the beer menu, wasn't she?
<5.4 climber> "What kind of beer do you have on tap?" <waitress> "We have EVERYTHING on tap" <5.4 climber> "Great, I'll have a Kilkenny then!" <waitress> "we don't have Kilkenny" <5.4 climber> "OK, I'll have an Albino Rhino then" <waitress> "we don't have Albino Rhino" <5.4 climber> "why don't you just tell me what you DO have?" <waitress> Samuel Adams - blah <waitress> Samuel Adams - blah, blah <waitress> Samuel Adams - blah, blah, blah <waitress> Samuel Adams - blah, blah, blah, blah <waitress> Samuel Adams - blah, blah, blah, blah, blah
They have EVERYTHING on tap, as long as it 's Samuel Adams ..and the classic of the night;
<5.4 climber-girl> "I'll have a bottle of xxxx" <waitress> "OK,.. would you like a bottle with that?" (no, just bring it to me in a paper bag)
But again, the 10lbs of meat on the table made up for the inadequacies of our waitresses .

rockguide wrote: My raichle boots are long gone ... I may have a coathanger ice screw though. That would freak Grant out just a little bit ... B And Definitely bring that coat-hanger-ice-screw!

Bike pooling. Anywho, Brian this is what I was trying to tell you about at Nick's Salewa Sphaero... I've seen them, but never used them on lead.

I'll bring the stove and coffee pot, you bring the drill and extra battery.

Me thinks that if I gave them $49.99 cdn, that I'd be wanting change these days (and not in USD's thank you) So just how far south will this bike-pooling thing go? Is Father Murphy's anywhere near Vegas? Come to think of it, this thread has already gone south Oh well carry on and I'll see you another time.

Vegas has cheap flights! I hope to be there this Wednesday. The pub, that is.

That looks handy, we'll probably be there too - climbing at Chinook wall after work so it depends how early we finish.
