Ah well. No go. Next time I'll bring my own partner. Hiking Camelback Mtn was nice though.

Not that it'd help your cause, but I'll vouch for Josh's skills as a climber.

And DOOD! WTF? You still here? Why didn't you holler? I'd have bought you a burger and a beer. Ain't seen ya in forever and a day.

BTW, going to Oak Creek Overlook tomorrow (Sunday, 14 Oct). Should arrive around 11am (late start.... long story.)

Black Dodge Intrepid, "Dog is my co-pilot" bumper sticker, and "5.9R WI5" license plate.

Bring rack and rope. I've only got one set.

Sorry dude! I some how spaced that you lived in PHX!

I'm no longer in Phoenix, which is a story in it's own right, although an upsetting one for me so I'll be keeping it to myself.
I'm not sure I'll be back to phoenix as I found it a to be a weird and to inviting place. ...What's up with that "arizona on the rocks" gym.....holy worst/most unfriendly/ terrible employees, climbing gym I've EVER been too!
But I did get some very good climbing in in Sedona. I also did some very good stuff in Isolation canyon and Queen Creek...thanks to my awesome guide Manny. So I'll defiantly consider those places again in the future.

Hey all, Vegas Climber looking to go south!

Hey, I'm interested in doing some Northernly AZ climbing one of these weekends. I can follow just about anything and lead up to 5.9's (maybe a 5.10 on sport if I play on it enough). I own a "half trad rack", rope, and of course, a helmet!

Let me know if anyone is up for a weekend of climbing.

It's over now....ended yesterday. So yes, you should probably pay your ticket now.

Thanks...but 2 things:

#1 This ticket is from Phoenix ARIZONA...this is the ARIZONA climbers thread right?
#2 I'm wondering if I have to pay it at all since it's a Photo radar ticket...not just wait to long then get lucky with an "amnesty day".

So basically...why did you respond with that?

Josh:

I'll dig around a bit, see if I can find out some info for you regarding the photo radar ticket.

I've always wondered, though, when drivers get one of those things: The ticket is issued to the registered owner of the car (via license plate tracking.) Can the cops prove that the owner was the person driving at that moment? IOW, could you argue "I loaned the car to my brother-in-law, and wasn't driving it that day" and get out of the ticket?

Anyway, lemme dig around. Where, exactly, did you get the ticket? I assume Loop 101, somewhere around Scottsdale?

Yep 101 in Scottsdale.

They take a picture of your face...that's how they try to prove it's you.

I figured out that i don't have to pay unless they serve me...since I live in Colorado all I have to due is not sign for registared mail for the next few months and I'll be golden.

Thanks for the reply bro!

To the person who installed the rap anchors and webbing atop Hanging Gardens on Gardner's Wall in the McDowell's:

First, I'd like to commend you for using 1" webbing, single piece rap rings, and neatly dressing the water knot.

But do ya think that maybe you could set it up so it's not an equalized version of the American Death Triangle? Had any part of that webbing been cut, the entire anchor would have failed.

I took it apart, retied one leg with that webbing, and added some 7mm cord (with a triple Fisherman's knot) to the other leg. This is the third time I've had to do this on the same anchors.

That is all.

Looking for a local Phoenix climber to climb half days at Pinnacle Peak or McDowells weekday/weekends. Because of work, I can't get out for all day trips. Climb with anyone. 541-980-9796.

I'm going to be visiting my folks (who live in "God's Waiting Room, i.e., Phoenix Arizona) over Christmas and I'm looking for a sport climbing partner who'd be wiling to take me out somewhere near Phoenix for a day in late December. I can lead moderate 10's, follow easier 11's.

Hey,

I'm going to be in Phoenix for next weekend, I'd really like to escape for a day. Queen Creek seems like the most simple/highest quality day out, but I'd be up for anything good. I could probably get away Fri, Sat or Sun. I like to climb up to .12- sport. Trad, probably 5.10 around Phoenix as I remember the grades being stiff from the little I've done there. Someone please get a hold of me, I'll really need a break from visiting my family!

Thanks -
Dave

I'd like a climbing partner who'd like to climb steadily every weekend. I'm up for doing local stuff and, if we're up for it, going on weekend excursions to check out some more interesting/prolonged climbs.

I can lead trad up to 5.6 or so, 5.8 for sport and follow somewhat awkwardly on 5.10. I'm experienced doing multi-pitch and backcountry climbing. I don't whine and I usually have chocolate.

I have a rope and all of my own gear. I lack in the lead gear department but I can make up for that in the future. I do have reliable transportation and I'm willing to drive half of the time, split fuel costs, &c.

I'm up for climbing with most people, experienced or beginner, of either gender. If you are some hormone driven, adrenaline junkie military brickhead, you can move on because I will not climb with you. Safety is a priority with me, although I won't wuss out when the going gets spicy.

Oh, and I'm located in the heart of Tucson, AZ.

We'll be camping at oak flats campground in queen creek the 9th through 11th and would love to have a climbing partner. I will have my gear if you just want to bring your basics (harness shoes helmet). My wife and kids(4 and 5 yr old) will also be up there so bring the family if you can. Just look for the excursion and travel trailer in the campground. Rusty 602-361-6876

I'm a safe climber looking for a partner for Sunday 18 NOV. I'll drive anywhere in AZ, but I prefer a climber of similar ability, 5.10 to 11-. Let me know if you're interested, I don't care if it's sport or trad.

I'm an NAU student visiting Family in Tucson from nov 20-25th for turkey day. I'd love to tag along with anyone hitting up Mt. Lemmon or other local areas. I'm a gym climber trying to make the transition to rock with some experience at jacks canyon and paradise forks. I climb roughly 5.9ish and have a rope and quickdraws.
