So beer manufacturers could mass produce yet another crappy beer that women would drink, too.

lite beer is excellent for summer time multiday raft trips. You can drink it all day, and it counts as hydration. You can't do that with Guiness

Anybody could chug a lite beer, Jeremy. That's why it is a "lite beer". Try chugging a Guiness. I can do that, but it ruins your whole night as it fills you up. So I don't do it anymore. Besides, it makes my eyes water and makes me cough. I'm not your age anymore. Steve

To even talk about chugging Guiness is to miss the point entirely. Chugging Guiness is like: -driving through Zion National Park with your windows up and not stopping. -trying to use face holds on a crack climb -hooking up with a beautiful woman, only to finish your business in 90 seconds. -reading Reader's Digest condensed books instead of thee real thing

That's not the point, Paul. I was just making a comparison. Besides, I am literally too old to chug Guiness without teared eyes, coughing, and dry heaves. I may not be 70, but 28 is too old for beer chugging. I lost that ability somewhere around 21, maybe 22. I say a steady, timely, well scheduled system of sipping with intermittent breaks for a puff of the cig is perfect. (For me, I know the rest of you probably don't smoke.) That's what I do: Sip.....sip.....sip.....sip.....sip.....puff, puff, puff.....sip.....sip.....sip.....puff, puff, puff....15 minutes later you crack a fresh one. heh.. i've only chugged guiness once, and that was because a girl bought me a carbomb.. carbomb = 1/2 shot of jager + 1/2 shot of 151, drop the shotglass into a 3/4 pint of guiness and chug Needless to say, I was not feeling too well the next morning.. (insert puking smiley here) -Nate Guiness is not meant for chugging. (and lite beer is not meant for anything)

Guinness is the absolute bestest beer there is! Wadda yah meen you can't chug a guinness??? And one the point of chugging guinness... One day a texan came into an irish bar... and said.. I'll give anyone $100000 that can down 10 pint of guinness in a row.. Then at the end of the bar Paddi stand up and walks out... a few minutes later he comes back and accepts the challenge... He downs all 10 pints in a row... everyone is astounded. Then the texan asked, where did ya go just now, before coming back to take the challenge, and patti replied... I went to see if i could do it first!!! Btw... How can you even compare lite beer with guinness?? ANd lite beer for a long trip, cause guinness doesn't go down well??? WHY DO YOU THINK THEY INVENTED KILLKENNY.. Kilkenny is the daytime all weather guinness!!! [ This Message was edited by: airscape on 2002-10-13 14:48 ]

That is not a carbomb. A shot of half Baileys, half Irish whiskey (Bushmills will do) is dropped in a half pint of Guinness. The Guinness is taken like a shot. Your carbomb is weak !

headcrak is right. I do carbombs often. 1/2 Bailey's, 1/2 Jameson whiskey in a shot glass dropped into a scotch glass filled (about half way) with Guiness. Yum, yum! Steve

Half pint? I drink it by the pint when I do. However, I have two main beers and Guniess isn't one of them. Don't get me wrong, I love Guiness. It's just too damn filling for a complete night out drinking. Peroni (but, no one ever really has it) Sierra Nevada Pale Ale After that, there is a whole host of beers. Steve

No, I mean... When you make the carbomb, shoot the shot in a HALF PINT OF GUINNESS. Not in that half a little scotch glass crap. 2 carbombs per pint.

I don't know. I can't drink like a teenager any more. I may not be that old, but my style of drinking has changed and I can only handle so much spontaneous bombardment of alcohol. I'm a slow and steady drinker now. It allows me to control just how drunk I get. Which has its benefits. No "upheavals" in five years. I like keeping it that way. Bed spin is one thing, the porcelain god is another. Steve

Did you know: Guinness has less alchohol than most lite beers. (Coors lite has less.) Nice call on the Sierra Nevada Pale WT. As to the original post, I think I prefer water to lite beer.
