My wife and I are trying to have our xmas cake and eat it too.

Can somebody suggest where to rock climb (preferrably trad) near Nephi, UT during December? Up to 200 miles back along the 15 could work.

Thanks in advance,

Sam

BERRRR. Climbing in Dec will be cold and likely will have snow. The closest to Nephi that I know of is Mapleton Canyon which has conglomerate rock.

Sam-

It will be cold, but bouldering in Joe's Valley is not unheard of in Winter in Utah. Ibex (the West Desert, out W of Delta) would likely be more cold than Joe's, and though there are some good 3 pitch routes on SE facing quartzite, it'll probably be too cold. Again, lot's of bouldering in that area.

Your best bet might be the St George area which is probably too far a drive south for what you want, but it's lower elevation and you can get some good S facing cliffs there.

Good luck!

Peter
