Hello all. First time on your message board. I'm in San Francisco on 19/20 Oct and LA for 24-31 Oct. I'm after an equipped partner to show me the sights. In San Francisco, I'll only have time for a rock gym, but in LA I have time for a 4 day trip (24-27) and want to go to Joshua Tree. Any takers or advice where better to go? I'll bring my boots and harness, but very little other gear. I'm a capable mountaineer, technically, and I lead climb 5.9 and can 2nd 5.10b max. (I think I understand your grading correctly). email me if you're up for entertaining me - I might hire a car in LA so transport isn't a problem. I'm a bloke, 36, married, fit, non-smoking, broad minded. Here's my profile if you're interested: http://www.ukclimbing.com/caff/forums/profile.php?id=692

I'll likely be heading out to JTree that weekend. If you're in the West LA area you can hitch a ride out with me (likely leaving early Sat am since I work nights, unless I get Friday off work). I have draws/nuts/ropes and a tent. Message me next week with your status. Have fun in SF. Hasta. Beth

excellent things are looking up Thanks for the advice all, and the invite Beth. I'll email next week when I've more of an idea what my schedule will be. I might head on out to Josh and meet you there on Saturday perhaps? Mark
