Looking for a non-sticky antipersiprant for my hadns that I can buy at Joe's, Walmart, REI, etc. Possibly antipersiprant soap would help. Starting to lead some harder stuff, and this new fear of taking lead falls makes me climb harder, but also makes my hands sweatier. I'm sure I'll get over the mental aspect of it with experience, but for now would like something to help.

i find the best way to cut down on hand sweat is to change your diet. I find a 100% burger king diet keeps my hands dry at even the most run out slabs.
I wouldnt be caught dead 100 feet above my last micro nut w/out a bacon double whopper, large fries and a diet coke in my stomach.
there may be some side affects tho, but it doesnt concern me really. im young and pretty much invincible.
check burgerking.com for some location and enjoy tearing up those big numbers like me

Go to you pharmacy and ask them. I know there is an over the counter product that does what you are asking for. I have met a few non-climbers that I have shaken their hands and got that wet, cold, clammy feeling; I wish they used that product!

This is why this forum is so sweet. The forum rats around here that feel the need to respond to every thread are just a bunch of tools that like talking about climbing more than climbing. I'm all for having some comedy in a forum like this, but EVERY thread has 15 douchebags cluttering it up with inane comments like these. Really guys you try too hard.
I asked an easy question, if you have an answer I would appreciate your response.
P.S. thanks texasclimber I will ask if there is such a product.

The Metolius chalk has an antipersiprant ingredient which works well; however for some people it dries their hands out too much. I do not have this problem and it works well for me.

straight from the google search of swaghole. If you have enough patience to read all those words ( there are alot in a row, i know) it says use a wet fucking tea bag. do you live near a grocery store? its that close enough for you?
other than that, tite-grip is your other option. Its a specialty condition, so you need a specialty product. So unless you have some specialty anti-sweat store around you, your out of luck.
btw, chalk is all i use, its all most of us use, sure my hands sweat a lot sometimes. those are the time you just have to man up and not cry about it.

I know it's the Internet. However, a forum degrades quite quickly (illustrated by this thread) when people just spout their minds. I find this forum to be particularly bad in this regard. Not sure if is the number of kiddie gym climbers or what, but the first 5 posts of any given thread are usually some jokers trying to be clever.

What you need to do is get a bunch of the mentioned products and try them out, and hopefully find one that works. Something that may work well for one person may not work for you.

Liquid chalk (some climbing stores}
Use one of the above. with chalk. The first two are antiperspirants that you put on at night (they block the sweat glands). Then chalk when you climb, of course.
Liquid chalk before you climb followed by regular powdery chalk is good.
Also, a deep breath...

I dunno. I don't know where you live, what your drug store carries, or if you can have your drug store order in any of this stuff.
You could've just as well asked if your local shops carried a certain brand of foot powder. WE don't know because we don't know where you are, much less what your local shops might stock.
So we provide you with options that you can ask about the next time you're at your local shop, or order online.

I asked here because I figured you would if the products stocked at brand name stores are any good. Some noob at REI would probably direct me to Old Spice. You can't trust what people say at those stores, so I asked here. Thanks for the last 3 comments, very helpful.

some one told me to use the same product that base ball payers use to dry out there hands i believe its called like reisen or something of that nature. also its makes your fingers less mucky like when you use chalk
