Black Diamond Camalots. They are my favorite.

I've also decided that my next cam purchase will prolly be either some Aliens or Splitters for small stuff, and I'll also look into getting some tricams in the near future...

AAAAGGGHHH...so much stuff to get, so little money!!!

Wild Country tech friends, and Wired Bliss FCUs, plus a couple old Kong-Bonatti cams (got them cheap when I was poor)

Friends rock - don't waste your money on Camalots.

I've got alot of bills, so i had to go cheap.
I use the Robot Cams, and even though they're roughly thirty bucks apiece (cheaper in a set), they still work great. I plan on getting some Aliens and some Wild Country tech friends soon, since the bots don't come in real big sizes.

Wild Country Forged Friends (1 to 4, doubles some sizes). Plan to buy the green & yellow Aliens to complement the set next time there's a sale!

Camelots for the large cams (they have that great double axle and a great range of widths).

Aliens for the mid-range (I love their flexible shaft).

Metolius for the smalls--there's one route that will only take a Metolius 00 tri-cam (the quad is too big!).

Mostly Trango flexcams because they were cheap and seemed good.
But I have one of each of the following.
BD Camalot
Wildcountry Forged Friend
Rock Empire Robot
Metolius Fat Cam.

The Metolius is my favorite.

A bunch of different brands:

Black Diamond, CCH Aliens, Wired Bliss, Wild Country Forged Friends, Wild Country Flexible Friends, Kong something or another, Big Bros, HB Quadcams, Metolius 3cams

If I had to do it all over again, it would be:
Aliens for the small sizes
Camalots for most everything else
Wild Country Forged Friends for double sizes
#3 and #4 Big Bros for the really wide stuff

OK, I don't get it, I see a lot of people here that have BD's, I'm not knocking them, I have a lot of BD equipment, I can tell you if I dont' buy Metolius, its BD, but, their cams, SOOOOO sloppy on the trigger, their lobe angle is large, they are expensive, and heavy, metolius covers the same range with less weight and cost, and more placements, so, I'm wondering, why are so many people attracted to the BD's?

Have owned and use Camalots (juniors and bigger), Aliens (yellow and smaller) and hybrids (All of them, they're awesome!), Friends (flexible and rigid), Metolius.

The only ones that I would keep buying are similar sized Camalots, Aliens and hybrid Aliens. I'm also looking into getting a couple of the Wild Country Zero's for aid-climbing.

The big thing about camalots is that double axle, which makes them certifiably stronger when fully expanded. A little insurance when you're pucker factor is throught the roof. I don't however, like them because they are quite thoroughly expensive, there are fewer cams within a width range, and because of the weight. I like WC Tech friends, which are essentially camalots with 1 axle, because they are cheaper, and their biggest is physically larger than my head. I also like Aliens, but that might be because I can practically see their headquarters from here. Oh, and Metolius TCU's, for what they are, there are damned few better. The Metolius 4 cams (all of them) tend to be rather narrow in the larger sizes, but wide in the smaller sizes, so placements are a little iffy. But then again, a little foresight solves that anyway.

Regarding fixxervi6's question of why people like camalots...

I like them primarily due to their increased expansion range. The increased expansion range means that I'm more likely to get the correct placement on the first try. This isn't normally a big deal, but when I'm leading near my limit I really appreciate plugging the correct cam on the first try.

I personally also really like their triggers. I could care less about any increased strength due to the double axles. I could also do without their extra weight, but I have some forged friends, tricams, neutrinos, and hexes if I'm being a gram weenie. Cost is an issue for me, which is why I have a whole pile of forged friends in addition to a handful of camalots (some of which are my partners).

double set of BD camalots .5, .75, #1, #2, #3, I ea. #4 , #4.5 metolius small cams, and a couple aliens for good measure.

Another benefit of the BD camalots is that they clean easier. This matters with an inexperienced second.
