I have the Sama, it's really comfy. The only problem is the haul loop isn't very big.

I have the Sama that I bought to replace my old Petzl Jump harness. I still liked the Jump better than all the new Petzl harnesses, but they don't make it anymore. That being said, the Sama is still pretty good.

I like the rigid gear loops in the front, but soft gear loops in the back, which works well for if you wear a pack, or simply lay down in the harness (the rigid loops would poke you in the back so soft is the way to go). This was an improvement over the Jump harness. But the harness tries to be lighter weight, and the less padding makes it less comfortable to hang in for longer periods of time.

In the other thread, Angry just recommended the Mad Rock Jupiter harness, so you might want to check that out as well.

I was a large in my last harness (BD) and I ordered a large Sama, and it barely fits (too big).

I do not, and have not owned the Sama harness, by I do own the Corax harness. So I can not speak of the Sama harness, but the Corax, so my opinion may not really apply to your situation.

I was not happy at all with the Corax harness. In order to get the gear loops (this is when they had the four rigid gear loops) on my side, and closer to the front of my waist, I ended up getting a large harness. The waist fit well, but the gear loops were to big for me, they would not tighten as much as I would like. The only time the leg loops fit snugly was when I was wearing several layers, either when ice climbing or rock climbing in the cold. I did not find that this harness was very comfortable, not only in the leg loops, but the waist as well.

Since then, I picked up a Yates Astroman harness. In my opinion, much much more comfortable than my Petzl harness, and fit me much better. The design, and number of gear loops are also much more thought out as well (7 in total, 6 regular and 1 up-turned loop). I climb mostly trad and ice though, and considering you asked about racking draws, I would assume this isnt much of a concern for you.

Like I said, my experience isnt with the model harness in question, but I have also seen other people in Petzl harness where (I would assume in order to get a proper fit in the leg loops) the gear loops seemed to sit to far back on their waist.

My $.02
