Weather is perfect that time of year baring rain. Calico Basin Campground is pretty much the only camping in the area. I think it $10 a night and the camp host is a nazi. There's plenty of hotels because you're so close to Vegas but if you're looking to get away from the bussle of Vegas try Bonnie Springs. They have an old fashion motel with horseback riding and an old western town. http://bonniesprings.com/ Someone else will have to help ya with the sport climbing, I mostly follow friends in or boulder.

The second pull out will be your main place of action. For a good intro plan on heading straight to the black coridor. All 9's and 10's with a couple 11's.

as was said above, there's only one campground, located 2 miles east of the loop road on the south side of the 160 (Charleston Blvd). Roughly $10/night- most people hate it, but i still can't figure out why- its the desert- what did you expect? 'course, i live here, so what would i know? sport climbing for a month? wow- lucky guy. there are a few places that you can tick off some good climbs .10 and under, but if i were you, i'd jump on some low .11's here- lots of them are friendly for the grade.... Black Corridor will be cold and sucky that time of year- the area sees about 1 hour of sun a day.... temps will be cool still- but you could have some real warmth toward the end of your trip. areas that will be good: Panty Wall- lots of warm ups Magic Bus- lots of warm ups The Gallery- start at 5.8, goes to as hard as you wanna climb- very crowded and popular Mass Production Wall- afternoon sun, mediocre, but a fair selection of routes Ultraman Wall- we're hoping to get the bolts replaced up there somewhat soon. If the bolts are mank when you get there, skip it. if you get strong while you're here, check out Sunny and Steep- there's a pair of .11a's there that are totally sweet and worth doing.

Hate is a strong word but most people find disdain in the unfriendly camp host who is a nazi and stickler for having people pay and follow the camp rules. Not so bad when there is a group of local hoodlums blasting their music and getting drunk at 1am in the morning but last time she actually pulled me over for speeding because I was going 10 mph in a 5 mph zone, no joke. Other than that it could be that it is damn near impossible to get a campsite during peak climbing season on the weekends.

I wanted to warn you that the campground at redrocks is a maximum stay of 16 days no exceptions. But its the desert and there is a little space if u can find it. It'll be busy then have fun
