I was there Saturday and it was pretty wet...
Everything left of Blind Profit was dry and Shrimp looked dry, in between... might have dried up some yesterday though as it was warmer.

We were at Pilot on Sunday (1/6) and everything from "Crackin' up" to either "Cow Patty Bingo" or "Obsequious" resembled more of a waterfall than a rock face. Like wise Black rain also had water flowing down it. I believe that most of the routes inbetween were dry. Meaning "Shrimp" and "Psycho-metric"(I believe) were dry. Everything away from the parking lot was dry and I cant say for anything back towards the parking lot.

If you think it might be wet, it is -- if you are thinking of the middle wall of the Amphitheater. What wets the middle wall is not surface water, but ground water that seeps through layers and fissures, emerging along the base of the roof. The longer it has rained and been rainy, the longer it will continue to leak. Access to the rings for "Turkey Shoot" stays wet even after "Crackin' Up" looks dry, which can leave you up there with no way to get your gear down. The lower part of "Surry County Ethics" also leaks, but "Syzygy" stays dry like the rest of the left wall and right wall.

Elsewhere, it is like elsewhere: what is sunny and breezy dries sooner, such as Parking Lot section. Because of the recent fire there, Sauratown has not been an option, reportedly closed until further notice.

It rained heavily on Oct. 27, 2010, and the next day there was the expected leaking on the expected routes of the Amphitheater middle wall. Att'd photo is the start for 'Turkey Shoot' to show what rain will do after it rains.

The other problem with rain is sand that is washed over all faces that are not roofed. All the routes in the School Room, for instance, and 'Howdy Dude' which stays that way, will have lubricating filling on all the finger holds. It may be dry, but it will take more time and stance to brush all holds before using them. Until someone else or later wind might do it for you.

Two fellows were at Pilot yesterday, expecting to warm up on 'Secretary'. Not. The middle wall of the Amphitheater area has been wet for over a month, and is still running water all over. There have, however, been some intrepid trad climbers on 'Crackin Up' able to wade over to the 'Turkey Shoot' rings. There has been leaking in the crack too, but only at the bottom which is commonly avoided anyway.

No problems on Amphitheater Left. The bottom of Amphitheater Right is wet; but 'Shrimp' and 'Sailor' are being done, with an extra shoe wiping.

There also has been leaking at The Beach on all routes, least on 'Wave' but at a critical point beside the first bolt. Forget 'Hawaii' and 'Spindrift' for a while.

It has been horribly windy for the same time, so all other routes, except 'Vegomatic' at the bottom for the crack start, have been okay.
