Hi,
I'm pretty new at climbing but have done alot of bouldering and mountain climbing. I dont have gear and am looking for a partner who is willing to share for some fun times until I can afford to buy my own gear. I'm 24 years old, a college student and love meeting new people.

Hi Ann,

if you get a chance come on out to Malibu Creek State Park on wednesday's

you can find some really nice people, since the hours are short and weather changing its the Planet Of the Apes wall for winter, some of us do more than top rope thats just to keep in shape during the week

the southern sierras are for me the best place to climb in southern cali, thats where I'm headed this afternoon for a few days

also Echo cliffs on the wknds are good

so come on out and enjoy the climbing

Hi Ann,
The best sport climbing right now for you is at New Jack City just southeast of Barstow, CA. Its only about 1 1/2 hrs. from Upland. Because most of the National Forests are closes, everyone is heading to the desert plus the weather is cooling down.
Last weekend (10/19/02) 3/4th of the people climbing there were new to the area.

Ann,
There is always a group of us climbing here in Joshua Tree every weekend. We meet on Saturday and Sunday mornings at 8:00 at Nomad Ventures (gear store) on Hwy 62 and Park Ave in JT.
There are plenty of new and experienced climbers. We'd be glad to show you around.

You might check out the Hanger18 climbing gymwww.climbhangar18.com. It's right there in Upland, and would definitely be a great place to meet other climbers.

Hey cmclimb - when on Wednesdays are you up at Malibu Creek? I have my mornings off and am getting tired of doing my day climbs during the workweek at Stony and Dume. What time of day are you up there?

Ann - I'll be heading to Josh to meet up with a big group of climbers of all levels from an outdoor club here in Socal. We'll be camping out at Indian Cove, you're more than welcome to join us...there will be lots of great people and great climbers who can really help ya out.
