So what's the deal? I live in the DC area and have never competed in a climbing comp despite climbing for 8 years. Im thinking about it but wanna know the cost, after party (?), if so, beer? How crowded? etc. Give me the low down. At this point in the winter even plastic seems fun.

Cost is 30 bucks if you call ahead and register, 35 at the door. You also get a free shirt if you pre register. Check in is at 3:00 climbing starts at 4:00. There is beer there and it was free last time during finals so I dont see why it wouldnt be this time. Its usually really crowded but you arent pressed for time on the wall at all. Time usually gets extended by an hour or 2. The routes are amazing, the route setters bust their balls making amazing routes. There is no shortage of creativity for the routes. I definitely suggest you try it out, they are always a great time.

Comps are interesting to say the least. But I wouldnt make the drive from DC for this one.
