Can't Post

It has been brought up recently that it is not right to post certain climbing areas because they are closed to climbing.

If you would like to add route info in a closed area then please do not give directions to this area and try to make it clear that the route information listed here is for historical value only.

This way if the crag is opened, on a future date, the route info will be there for all to find. If the crag remains closed then we will be able to make sure that people know of it's access problems beforehand. Without adding directions, we can't possibly be 'advertising' the crag.

The route info for closed crags is also needed for those who wish to use our Ascents feature.

In order to add a climb to your ascents list it needs to be in the rockclimbing.com routes database. So if you climbed a route at Cliff B and the crag has since been closed to climbing, your ascent of said route should still be valid.
