I just opened mine up. First impression is Where the Fudge is the rest of the manual. It seems that the manual focuses more on taking still photos rather than using it as a video camera.
I'm going to be using it with my macbook pro and final cut express. It didn't come with the firewire nessicary for transferring video, only a usb wire for transferring photos. WTF???
Anyway does anyone have any advice for me. I've been going on message boards for video and it seems that they aren't frequented as much as this board so its hard to get any responses.
So my basic question would be:
What firewire do i need to transfer the videos.
and
I read that you should use a tape head cleaner before even using the camera.... True or False.
THere must be someone here that can help me.

I'd love to be able to even pretend to be helpful, but aside from editing some stuff my wife shoots, I know nothing about video.

I can't imagine a forum that doesn't have a million know it all's dying to post something but there are very few video related questions on here, and fewer that get answered.

I use a Panasonic DVX100 but I have used a GL2. A great website for anything about them is http://www.skateperception.com Go there and check it out. Hopefully that will help you out a bit
