GOOD:
Good angle and leading lines.
Nice use of Shadow vs. light
Nice bright shirt to draw the viewers eye

BAD:
The rope's shadow (mid pic) is distracting, the upper portion shadow is not.
In the shadowed area the rope is showing in a small (BRIGHT) portion.

Buttshot - albeit, not a terrible one.

Thanks guys,
I appreciate the critiques! Here's my take on butt shots: To me, if all the elements work graphically, then it doesn't matter if its a butt shot. Sometimes we get too caught up in the rules.

Yeah thats true, there is some nice butt shots on RC.com.... but I have a thousand butt shot photo's on my mac that look just like yours Cool They aren't bad photo's but memories of me climbing so and so route or one of my mates playing around at the crag, what I would call a "snapshot"

Your colours are nice and the shadows are good but it needs some texture, some layers, what is your foreground, what is the back ground?

The best RC photo's usually consist of being about a person's emotions on the climb (facial expressions and body position) or the epic scale of the climb, wide angle shots of a massive valley with a climber perched off centre as your focal point.

If you can break out of those two moulds and get an awesome shot, you have done very well Smile
