Hiya.

Good for what? Depends what you want to do?
I guess probably winter climbing.
Novembers not the best, maybe some snow but no ice yet. As far as I know Jan- Mar is better.

And for rock climbing, november is crap - everthing is wet and cold :-(

it's hit and miss with the wet factor. it still rains a fair amount in October. the beginning of the month shouldn't be too bad though. just be prepared for the fact that you may have to climb on moist rock.

Even October's going to be pretty chilly. The closer to the middle of the year, the better in terms of temperature, bearing in mind that mid-summer temperatures are unlikely to be higher than 20C ever.

Whenever you come you're taking a chance on the weather, afraid there's no way around that part.

I've climbed year-round there, but obviously the more south you are the easier that will be in the winter, late fall, and early spring. It's going to rain regardless of when you're there, so be prepared. My only advice is to think about the International Festival in Edinburgh in August. Flight prices are high that time of year for that reason. Otherwise, good climbing can be found even when wet.

you will not get a lot of trad done in october or November. The days are short and dark, its cold, it's rainy. not the best time for trad climbing. Much better to come in summer.
