Looking for trad mentor  (Asia: Malaysia)

A friend and I have been thinking about taking up trad climbing here in Malaysia for a while now, and decided we should not delay taking it up any further. I was just wondering if there is any trad daddy out there in Malaysia that can take a couple of trad n00bs under his wing.

We're based in KL, and climb sport most of the time for the past few years. My friend has done some trad in Australia sandstone, but never on limestone and granite. Looking for anyone who can share their knowledge on the local area, in terms of required gears and routes.

Just PM me if you're a willing victim... err.. mentor. Smile

Used gear on Limestone over a period of 40 years, only time I've had rock breaking is on micro wires, even then then I have had more nuts deform and pull, than rock break. Put them in well, trust them, don't let the scaremongers put you off. (In the past, only the french were afraid of nuts on limestone, hence the growth of 'French' free climbing)
