I just want out to Chochise for the first time last weekend. It is very cool. The routes are great and prentiful. I was at "isle of you" on trad rock. The slab is excellent. BTW - anyone know why trad rock is called trad rock when it's all sport?

haven't climbed it, but last weekend I rode a horse for 27 miles from Fort Huachuca to Tombstone, and could see the stronghold in the distance. It looks freakin awesome! I wanted to take a detour over there to climb.

I might go back out there in the spring to climb it.

I've climbed there a lot. If you like 5.9 trad, go to SW stronghold and do 1000' Sheepshead. RV camping in East and primitive in west stronghold. Keep an eye on weather, can get very cold and wet. Wonderful climbing.

I climbed there quite a bit when I lived in Tucson. I will probably try to get out there for a day or so around thanksgiving when I am visiting my family. It is a very pretty and exciting place. Must do routes:
Whats my line 5.6 A0 huge chickenheads for 3 pitches
End Game 5.10a amazing adventure sport route (5 pitches)
Sheepshead (There is a cool trad route and a sport route that go up the whole dome)
