If you want to climb anywhere in Oak Flat or the Queen Creek area, you can. All areas we have used over the years are still open; some by agreement with RCC and the Access Fund and others because they are still public land. If you have any questions about an area, please contact Friends of Queen Creek or AMC or even me. I get asked often if we can still climb there by local and visiting climbers. I would encourage all to continue to visit their favorite areas and support the local merchants of Superior. Let everyone know we care about this incomparable area.

I had the chance to climb at Upper and Lower Lunar Lander in the Queen Creek Area a year ago. I am from South Dakota and will be traveling down to Phoenix again for spring break. I was hoping to climb here again, however, I just wanted to make sure that we can still climb here, and use the same parking lot we used previously. Is that small "parking lot" still available? And are we trespassing if we enter the area? We will be leaving in less than a week and any information you can provide would be EXTREMELY helpful, and I will be forever grateful! Best regards, Kyle |

Kyle, I kind of doubt the place has closed in the last 8 days.

I have a friend who went to lower looner land the weekend before last. He said it was open, but they moved the parking lot. I got the impression that the new parking lot wasn't very far from where it was before.

The new parking lot is just shy of the old one, along the same road. It is hard to miss, just drive up the mine road til you get to a gate. Look to the left for a bladed roadside "parking area" with the manzanitas hacked away for a trail to lunar land taking off directly west. RCC provided these amenities.
