Hola! Hubby and I are getting more into climbing and Little Falls is the closest place for us to climb (we're in Rochetester). Are there folks that head out to climb on any sort of regular basis once the snow clears? When DOES the snow clear exactly? It's a 2.5 hour drive for us but we're happy to do it on the weekends - just curious about the climbing there and the folks who frequent it. Any beta would rock - we have a PDF of the old guide book but are not sure how up to date or accurate it is. Peace, Dove

the guibebook is pretty accurate. You might be able to climb @ Moss pretty soon, it usually dries out fairly quick. It'll be cold for awhile yet though, as the wind tends to tear right along the cliff face I'd give the other areas some more time, the walls tend to seep in some places, and there's alot of shade. cheers, A

Hi, we've been to moss island and it's the perfect beginners spot --easy access to toprop and clear routes. (It's also great for kids with a canal lock and cave like places.) I've been looking for the guide book for a while now. If anyone has a pdf, would they mind sending me a copy? (It's out of print.) thanks, Eric

I also live in Rochester and am interested in climbing at Little Falls or the next closest place. In reply to: I use to climb outdoors back in 1990 in texas, and have recently rediscovered the sport through rock ventures in Rochester,ny. I am very intested in outdoor climbing in spring when weather is warmer, which for rochester can be anywhere fron March-to Appril

I'm going to school at RIT in Rochester. My buddy and I go to little falls just about every weekend that we have free. As far as beta, i'd reccomend avoiding the weekends if you plan on going to moss island. Anything under 5.10 ( aka 90% of the routes ) will have a large group on them.
