Anyone know of any good resources for finding climbing partners in Japan? Forums? Webpages? Emails? Thx!

Try some of the general outdoor clubs, they oftne have a few climbing guys hidden away somewhere. The other option is to find a local gym and ask.

Once you are at a local gym, try to talk to the oldest guy who speaks English. The younger guys probably either won't speak English or won't be interested until you whip their asses at the local bouldering comp. So talking to the old guys is usually the easiest. I went climbing on Saturday with such a "senior" of 65 years who flashed a 5.11d and declared that was just his warm-up: he went on to do two more laps on the 5.11d and walked up a 5.12b, finishing off with a whole bunch of 5.10cs. I didn't even attempt to follow him.

You might want to try http://outdoorjapanforums.com/eve Also, depending on where you are, I was accepted to an exchange in Fukuoka, Kyushu starting in September 08 and will be also looking for partners.

I'm not exactly sure how to get there from the fusa gate. I really don't know directions all that much around here actually. When are you heading there?

No Family is though. I'll be back in the states by then. There should be some way to google it. Are you talking about the train station in Mori Town?

Hey, I'm coming to Japan from May9th - May 15th 2008 and am looking for any other climbers that would be up for a few days or a week of climbing around Tokyo. I don't really know how to get around, other than what I have found on the internet. So if anyone would want to climb between those dates, send me a line. my email is mickileepaul@gmail.com since I probably won't be making my way back to this forum. thanks!
