I am planning to take my kids camping and climbing for the first time over spring break. I am looking for a nice place within a couple hours of Mesa (pine trees are a plus). Any suggestions?

Although devoid of pine trees, Queen Creek would be a safe choice with kids. Lunar Land has stuff you could set TRs on. Eurodog Valley would be fun to hang with em, trees and water around. Three hours away is Jacks Canyon but it may be overrun by partyers and climbers alike.
