I am planning a trip with a buddy to Jackson Falls for my spring break, the week of March 17-21. Is it warm enough to be climbing there right now? I live in St. Paul, MN and I am looking for outdoor options. Are there other better/closer places. Interested in sport, bouldering, and top ropes. Please let me know. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Climb on.

Temperature wise it will be fine at Jackson Falls, but it might be wet due to all of the recent snow/rain.

It depends on the area....some climbs stay wet for a while, some dry out quickly. It has been very wet there lately, with snow in the last week. My guess is that in a week, some stuff will be dry, but a lot will still be wet (especially with rain in the current forecast). RRG is a good alternative if you don't mind the extra travel time.

Has anybody climbed at the Falls in the last week? Is it climbable or is everything soaked?

Leaving for Jackson Falls from Chicago this afternoon, anybody have any news on conditions down there? Besides the whole earthquake thing.

I had a couple friends get back last night from a two day trip. Conditions were great, but the forecast today is not. I was there last weekend after a heavy rain and found a couple of dry climbs (by Cheerio Bowl) - with some more climbs drying up as the day went on. Rainy day roof was OK too, but we didn't climb there. Good luck and climb safe.

Cheers nivlac. We'll check those out of the weather doesn't cooperate. I'll try to remember to give an update when I'm back as well.
