Hey All, I'm taking all of next year to climb in the Central Chilean Andes, and i'm currently researching the different areas I would like to visit to look for new potential routes. I'll most likely be stationed around Santiago, and i'm looking for areas to visit for shorter trips, as well as other areas to go to that would involve a long approach and first ascents (alpine trad). I've checked out escalando.cl and have gotten some pretty good beta there, but I could really use some advise on where to hang out around Santiago and such to find partners/get info/organize larger excursions. I've looked at the Cordon Granito and the regions south of there for new alpine terrain--any other suggestions or advice on where to find partners who would be keen for longer and more committing trips? Any help is appreciated :) Cheers, NICK

I've never been there Nick, but I hear Bariloche has outstanding climbing. Good luck with your trip. RR
