Hey!

Looks like I'll be spending a couple of months in Baraboo starting June. I don't know the area at all, however, and will be adventuring alone. I'd like to do as much bouldering and sport as possible and will need a climbing buddy. Any takers?

You will have no trouble finding people to climb with but there is no sport climbing at DL--it is all trad. The name of the game here is headpointing--you learn the route on top-rope and then climb it on lead or solo.

I'll be spending quite a bit of time there myself this summer so we can probably get together.

If you want some other rock insead of the slick pink quartzite at Devils Lake, go to RedWing for limestone sport climbing, or Taylor Falls that has some decent bouldering in some cool glacial potholes. And if you are really adventurous, check out Tettegouche State Park, shovelhead point, palisade head in northern MN near Duluth which is about a 6 hour drive?

Yeah, not much sport at the lake (aka any) but there is some bouldering. There is however some nice sport and bouldering around the state, from Baraboo i would recommend gov. dodge. Check out wisco on mountain project... http://www.mountainproject.com/v/wisconsin/105708968Lots of good sport if you're willing to drive a couple hours.
