Someone please take this off of RC.com. The citadel is currently closed.

Thanks!

Paul -- can't remove it from the RDB, but I've removed the directions and modified the description to emphasize it's a closed area. Hope this helps.

Is the Citadel still closed? I know some people from ATL that have been climbing over there. I've never been, what's the issue with the access?

Thx

Zach

There's been no change in the status of this area. For the sake of future access, please don't climb there and please discourage your Atlanta friends to stop trespassing.

Will do.

What's the issue there? Is it private land? Was it ever open to climbing? What measures (if any) are being taken to try to make it accessible? Any history would be appreciated as I try to explain why we shouldn't climb there.

Thanks

Zach

Zach -- I don't know anything about the history of the Citadel other than it being on private property. I'm pretty sure there's been initiatives by the SCC to get it opened; where they stand, I don't know.

I think your best bet will be to check the SCC message board (http://www.seclimbers.org/modules.php?name=Forums). I'm almost positive I've seen some message threads on the subject, and if you don't find them, you can post up with your questions.

Thanks for checking before climbing!
